Thirty years later and i’m finally seeing this! As an HBCU student, this movie and show is an exact representation of what goes down between PWI and HBCUs. They also feel the need to say “It’s just a joke” when they are told black culture is not funny! As said in Sinners, “They want our rhythms but not our blues.”

yeah just not the one for me. while the end of the movie (party scene and after that) was a lot better and more enjoyable, the rest of the movie was not. the characters felt so stereotypical, the choices didn’t make much sense, and dialogue felt oddly placed or just didn’t land how they were supposed to. idea was okay, but the execution was just … eh idk
