The stooges are three doctors who graduated medical school by being in it for too many years. They come across such problems as an overly chirpy nurse, a mental patient, and a combination to a safe swallowed by the hospital superintendent in the course of their attempt to get through the day.

“Why don’t the patients eat an apple a day and save hospital expenses?”

Another Stooges short, the third they produced in their Columbia run. This one is really funny, as we watch the Stooges run about a hospital playing incompetent doctors.

I think this is the start of where the Stooges really get into their groove. The sound effects are on point, the visual gags are really funny - especially when the Stooges run into the janitor’s closet and come out on various vehicles to get to their next patient! - and the supporting cast is really strong. I can’t believe a nurse’s voice (that being of Jeanie Roberts!) can go that high, but they get a good gag out of her having the hiccups.

I think the ending is a little rushed feeling as they destroy the P.A. announcer board in the end with hammers and guns, but that’s pretty much the big flaw in this otherwise fun Stooge short.
