The perfect depression cure after Farewell, My Concubine destroyed my happiness. Leslie Cheung was so ahead of his time with how they portray LGBT. His voice is so hypnotising, every time he sings he can grab your attention immediately and touch your soul.
This movie felt like Leslie Cheung teaching the Hong Kong audiences what being bisexual actually means. It felt very personal at times with some scenes where he was trying so hard to convince himself he isn’t gay.

I watched a heavily edited version that was broadcasted in China. How are you gonna play a film in which the homosexual imagery is part of the central idea of the film, and pretend the end product is gonna be anything remotely similar?
