This is, technically, the best 70’s Chan film I’ve seen to date. The camerawork is smooth, clean, and super dynamic, and the available restoration (on Tubi) has some of the most crisp, vibrant, and sharp quality I’ve had the pleasure of seeing on Chan’s older stuff. This is one of the best films to be able to enjoy this restoration on, as well. It almost feels like the film that screams “70’s Jackie Chan” the most, with it’s spectacular physical comedy (it’s not quite Drunken Master funny, but it’s still damn good,) electric choreography, and wonderful stunts. There’s an especially impressive score here, being one of the best displayed from a Hong Kong Kung Fu film. People watch Jackie Chan’s films to have a good time, and this most certainly won’t disappoint. It’s a great time.
