Watched this on 2 days ago. I was gonna write a long review when the time was right, but imma keep it short. I think most people find it difficult to feel for others who are going through tragedies in different parts of the world because death tolls and statistics don’t give a sense of individuality. This film focuses on a single family’s story, which in turn leaves room for relatability (pertaining to our own families/communities) and allows us to properly reflect. It builds empathy as it helps us get a better grasp on their situation. Anyways, free palestine.
Condensing something like this to an amount of stars feels uncomfortable. I also don’t like seeing the letterboxd rating system in my head while I watch something (just started happening recently) as it’s a distraction. I might remove stars from my profile for this reason and just use my account as a movie diary and simplify to either liked it or didn’t like (I will still slander all of you for incorrect ratings). I’m watching Paddington rn tho, so like not rn.
