This isn't even the worst thing John Landis has done in his life.> My favorite part of this movie was that the orphanage they raised money to save in the first film is now closed. Its kind of a big fuck you.Every time I hear this movie mentioned, its followed by a swarm of hatred. I can see why, but I don't think its the worst thing ever made. The first twenty minutes had some good gags in it, and promised a different experience than the first. Unfortunately, it becomes a stake retread of the first movie without John Belushi. Aykroyd is fun, and the cast tries their best, but they are working with an incredibly underwhelming script. The ending is so anticlimactic that it becomes laughable. The stakes don't feel as high, all of the foes are reskins of the antagonists in the first, and it doesn't have a central focus. In the first film, they are on a mission from God to help save their orphanage. In this one...they just get the band back together. Its so tiresome, and Landis' direction is not entirely there. Its not as bad as something like Caddyshack II, but it could have been so much better.
