This feels like a hot take, but: Chris Fleming is the spiritual standup heir to Robin Williams.
Williams was the greatest improv standup of his generation (or really ever), sure, but Fleming is a vastly better writer (except for his set pieces, which fall weirdly flat in between the standup bits). His standup itself -- the energy, the surreal linguistic fireworks, the constant sense of physical discomfort -- is without equal, and no one comes particularly close to his style.
The guy's an absolute freak of nature, and it's amazing that what he does works so astonishingly well.
