Don’t ask.
Does this even count as a feature film. I know it was (somehow?) released in UK Cinemas but it’s essentially 3 episodes of a TV show stitched together.
The animation is incredibly mixed. There’s some good character modelling so they do resemble the Slyvanian Family figurines and they are animated to make it look like it’s stop motion. I wish it was stop motion. But the backgrounds and textures are atrocious. It’s consists of low quality JPEGS to make up the dirt and concrete in the environments. The Raindrops are basically PNGS that barely even interact with the environment. The voice acting and writing leaves a lot to be desired.
I know it’s an “early in morning cineworld movie” / Cheap non-US animated things and maybe something like Flow has raised the bar for these kinds of movies for me (I swear one of the production companies who worked on this worked on Flow). Just because it’s for Kids, doesn’t mean it has to be terrible. It makes The Minecraft Movie the better IP Movie released on April 4th in the UK, somehow.
