I watched this thinking it was gonna be something like 13 going on to 30, but instead I got Idek what this was it was good, if you understood anything.
The only thing I actually know from this movie is the Egyptian wannabe dancing lol but you gotta love Reese Witherspoon

now i first thought reese witherspoon was perfect as becky, but as the film went on i realized they changed her character almost completely. the bbc series becky was rly good (and i gagged when i saw the actress in this). anyhow, very bad, did not wnjoy it, too much of becky and not enough of amelia and dobbin (love the amelia actress, her emma was perfect, but here it's a miscast imo, oh and why on earth george's hair was styled like emo)

I just read the book and loved it but this movie fails to deliver a better adaptation. Reese was good as Becky in some scenes but terrible in others. My main concern is that they tried to make her “good” as to humanize her which definitely is not the real Becky Sharp. It’s almost as if they’re were afraid to make an amoral protagonist who happens to be a woman. Becky genuinely loving Rawdon? No way. Becky caring for Amelia after the war and letting go of her horses? Impossible. Having read the 800+ pages book I see it’s extremely difficult to adapt all of it but at least Becky should be done justice. Also not enough Dobbin, and he was my favorite character.
