i really wanted to like this, but the story just couldn't keep up with how incredibly good it looks and sounds. the cinematography is genuinely beautiful, and the way they used eraserheads' track set the perfect mood. but man, the plot just refuses to take a single risk. you can clearly see all these interesting directions the narrative could have explored, yet it just settles for the most generic, predictable route possible. it's frustrating when the massive potential is right there staring at you, but it ultimately ends up being pure style over substance.
