I think the beauty and humanity of the real event makes this an almost impossible film to appraise. I'll always cry when the Scottish priest starts to accompany the German tenor singing Silent Night. Humans good!

real ones know this movie is utterly peak
i first saw it in french class YEARSSS ago and its just soso good. the scene where the scottish are playing bagpipes while the german opera singer sings over it i just go AUGAHA!!! also all of the lieutenants are hot so thats a plus 🫦
