This is an unnerving psychological folk horror from India. Bramayugam is phenomenal at setting a terrifying atmosphere, giving the audience a question, and building suspense. However, what this film struggles to do is hold your attention for 140 minutes. There is a lot of dead space that could have been trimmed down a bit, but I understand what the director was trying to go for in letting shots run on. This is filmed amazing, and is very beautiful to look at. Bramayugam might not be your average cup of tea, but I do think it is one more people need to check out. This film is definitely going to help me in my own work, especially when it comes to world building!
