Rule #1: Cartoons, anime & TV shows, in general, should never be given a feature film*
Rule #2: If such treatment is to occur, maintain the original format of the program being adapted**
Rule #3: Make the feature film worth the effort, i.e. no origin story, no retreading/adapting entire seasons, go big but stay true.*

I'm still confused. It's 2.5 hours of grandiose bemusement. I just, I don't, I... bugger it, I got nothing. If you know the source anime, I'd leave this be, if you don't, I'd still leave this be. Follow the rules and be original.
