xXx: State of the Union
I understand that Vin Diesel wanted to do this movie but then dropped out, but it's hard for me to believe that their next best option that they had was Ice Cube. Don't get me wrong, he can perform well if given the right story, but for him to lead as your action hero…yeah I don't know about that. This movie felt so incredibly lazy in almost every aspect of this movie. The action pieces were significantly worse than the first one and that one even had above average action pieces in of itself. Some of the writing is just so trash and you're just sitting here like, “did they really just say that? that was fucking stupid”. Even the cinematography itself was just so lazy and legitimately just didn't add anything to this already boring movie. Lastly, the random, casual racism in this movie was also really weird and just came out of nowhere.

Rating: mid-low 4/10
Ranking: #1,718/1,981

This movie was a choice.

A good choice? Debatable. Very debatable.

Also the cgi just gave up for the last act??? Not gave up but there was a point where I was feeling nostalgic for early 2000s action sequences then they cut to the bullet train sequence and just went crazy with cgi.
