Genuinely fun movie that is GORGEOUS and sick design. This guy had Fun for Himself first and you can tell. It’s like everything was made to be entertaining, fun, and used repeatedly in different ways…for him. And weirdly that made me have fun, because he clearly had fun! I loved seeing this movie at TIFF and now going to watch the first movie because this one made me feel so energetic, I gotta see Junkhead!
There is something you can’t beat about genuinely optimistic, funny, weird, animation it makes you happy and I think it’s a joy to watch something filled with that energy. But what’s infectious is someone having fun and showing it! It’s wacky, it’s silly, it’s not serious but it takes itself seriously in its wacky silly way. It’s made definitely by the love of the creator and if it nobody likes it that’s fine because only someone who does stop motion could commit to an idea like this with a small crew because they love their idea.
