8.4/10 big time surprise. You could literally make this type of movie 101 times and I will be there every time. You could say these types of crime thrillers are reheated but for me they just never get stale. And man this cast is absolutely loaded it does suck that this movie flopped because it was great. Mark Ruffalo just knows how to play a detective. And Barry Keoghan was also fantastic here. Barry just knows how to play someone you absolutely hate. His character was genuinely insane and had no morals and the botched robbery was terrific to watch. The performances weren’t bad from everyone else but it was nothing worth talking about. I love Halle Berry but at points I don’t understand why she was in the story. She wasn’t in the movie that much but she sort of felt overused which sounds terrible but I didn’t care for her character at all. And for some of my other critiques are the pacing of this movie and the length. They for sure could’ve cut off about 30 minutes of this movie. This isn’t a critique but I do wish this movie was set in Miami. It just gave me Miami vibes. The chase scenes here were so fun and i’m not even a car guy but I was marking out over all these cars for some reason. I do like how this movie culminated with the third act. I wasn’t sure if I just liked the movie or loved it until that intense third act. That cut to Mark Ruffalo in the back of the car was amazing. The whole hostage sequence was great and Davis was the person I was least expecting to pull that trigger. I’m so happy Mark Ruffalo let Davis get away in the end and Davis will finally get the restart he was talking about at the start of the movie. And if you realize I couldn’t remember the names of most characters here sorry. I could only remember Davis who was played by Chris Hemsworth. I feel like that was the only name I heard more than once the whole movie. I definitely recommend this movie to any one who likes a crime thriller.

Nothing burger. Took me 5 days to get through it. At one point I’m like an hour in and they’re just doing Yoga all the time.

Can’t fill the Michael Mann’s Heist shaped hole in my heart. A successful thief is nothing if not methodical and consistent. Never get too attached to anything you are not willing to walk away from in 30 seconds flat. I just don’t see that consistency and expertise in Chris Hemsworth here, sure it’s human and feel good at the end but there’s a ruthlessness and cold bloodedness need in this profession that’s just not here. So I don’t believe any of it.
