Two Cents Worth of Hope
If this film was released now, the Carmela character would do numbers. She is an icon.
Cannes sure likes Italian neorealist movement because this is already the third film they gave palme d'or to.
More lighthearted approach but surely tries to deliver the same core messages. Loved the ending.

In the ’50s, they wanted unemployed men. Why is he blessing the bus? Carmela was down bad for Antonio. This movie had a lot of short scenes that jumped around a lot. An entertaining ‘love story,’ I think.
