❝There are no such things as vampires, fruitcake!❞

I vastly prefer the 1985 film over the remake. I'm sorry Colin Farrell, but Chris Sarandon was just too good as Jerry. In my opinion, he's one of the best on-screen vampires: great hair and fashion, great voice, and simultaneously scary and sultry. Again, I wasn't a huge fan of the two leads, but they were more tolerable than their modern counterparts. I really liked Peter Vincent in this film, too. David Tennant was cool, but Roddy McDowall brought a touch more comedy and usefulness as Vincent. The story took some time to get going, and I didn't really take a lot of interest until Charley, Amy, Ed and Vincent went into the house the first time. However, I absolutely loved the VFX and makeup on the vampires; that scene with the werewolf was so awesome, and Amy's full vampire form was genuinely creepy with her long mouth.
While it's not 'scary', I had a lot of fun watching Fright Night and I can definitely see why it's considered a cult classic. It's campy and weirdly nostalgic, and has one of the hottest vampires I've ever seen in a film (sorry Edward).
