watching movies with 2 hour+ runtimes to fix my attention span and it's kind of working
very pretty. successfully portrays the inexplicable, unspeakable magic behind music and the artistry of someone who's truly passionate about their art. the scene of myra playing rachmaninoff at her first concert was my favorite!! i smiled when her love for playing the piano felt pure and tangible and teared up whenever this sense of innocence was interrupted by the maestro's desire to regain his superiority during their performance. the ending is somewhat cathartic when he finally surrenders his egotistical ways but her ending up with george felt off to me lol...probably because i didn't really enjoy it as a romance movie. obvi liked it lots in other ways though!
