I have a very distinct memory of watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Tv Everytime it would play on Friday nights, I remember it bringing me so much joy, it was one of my absolute favourite movies, Like if 10 year old me had letterboxd this movie would be on my top 4!

Gotta give the man the myth the legend deep roy some recognition for playing all 165 Oompa-Loompas, it creates a surreal, synchronized effect during the musical numbers that is so impressive!

Johnny Depp is absolute perfection as Willy wonka. He plays Wonka as a socially awkward, sarcastic, germaphobic recluse with a distinct high-pitched voice. He lacks the "twinkle in the eye" that Gene Wilder had, replacing it with a sense of childhood trauma and daddy issues!
