"Will the universe remember us?"
Set in Manila in the future, the end of the world feels closer than ever. This is the ultimate exes story. Junie and Chito haven't seen each other in years, they encounter each other in what was supposed to be Junie's final rave. Together, they spend the night talking about the end of love and the universe itself.
Fuck, ang ganda. The dance scene is what Euphoria wanted to be. It borrows the aesthetics of Euphoria yet it removes the objectification that Sam Levinson disgustingly puts in the show. The scene is one of the rawest, most beautiful depiction of queer love I've seen. The actors looking well over their 40s adds so much to the entire film. There's just something about old queers that stirs up a lot of emotions within me.
In the end, Junie vows that this is the last time that he'll give in to Chito. Tomorrow, he will get 8 hours of sleep, 6 glasses of water, and learn to say no to him. Chito challenges this by betting that once they walk away, Junie will look back. The film closes with Chito being the one that stands in place, looking back at Junie while Junie continues to walk away, finally letting go of what they had.
This was unexpectedly my favourite out of all of the shorts. If they release this online, I will 100% watch it again
