Wow, what a film to kick off December!

The casting and the story truly make this one of the great Christmas classics. This film made me realize that Christmas movies used to be better, simply because you wanted to believe in them. I mean, who would want to be involved in the events of "Red One"?

This film is definitely worth watching, and I'm so glad I finally saw it!

this has little to do with the plot of movie, but I want to include it in my feminist film recs bc of how surprised I am that a movie from 1947 depicted a single mother (divorced, not widowed) who has a position of authority in a big company, she’s good at her job, her male coworkers respect her, her flaws don’t come at the expense of her being a working mom, and she’s still a good mom with a good work/life balance; and as much as this is a bare minimum nowadays, I like to believe that this was one of the contributors to the inclusion of strong female characters like this in american cinema
