A pair of mice attempt to board Noah's Ark: Vini, a charismatic poet with terrible stage fright, and Tito, a talented and charming guitarist. When the rains come, only one male and one female of each species is allowed on Noah's Ark. With the help of an ingenious cockroach and fate's good luck, Vini and Tito sneak their way onto the Ark and together avert a showdown among the ships carnivores and plant eaters. All the while, the animals perform a series of classic songs inspired by world renowned poet, Vinicius de Moraes. Can these talented stowaways use music to break the tension and help these cooped up creatures survive the 40 days and 40 nights together?

🔙 Boy Kills World

Noah's Ark
I need to stop seeing the animated movies they play at the cinema at 10am, cause I’m just gonna be met with crap.

Seeing this was kind of a surreal experience. I was the only one in the cinema, there was no ads, it just abruptly started with about 20 logos before the sound came on halfway through the first song.

It starts off as this sort of Gen Z retelling of the story of Noah’s Ark that’s like making fun of the plot holes in the original story like it’s on r/atheist focusing on these two musical rats who want to go viral on “TikTok” even though it’s 5000 years ago.  So, Only one is allowed to go on Noah’s Ark because homophobia. So one gets a ride another way and sneaks on board and then it becomes just your basic talent show competition plot line full of every trope  imaginable with the climax stolen right from “Singing in The Rain”, which reminds me that I’d rather be watching that.

It’s got “stylised” animation by animating its characters at a lower frame rate like Spider Verse but it just seems like they couldn’t be bothered to render all the frames. The animation is pretty ugly, especially the animal fur and water simulations. The artwork they play at the end credits looked much better than the actual film. There’s also music here, because it’s a 2020’s low budget kids movie, just sounds terrible like it was literally thrown together at the last minute cheap pop.
