There’s so much movie-ception happening. I really enjoyed the footage involving their younger selves. I think this movie was meta; I’m confused and unsure. A fun watch all the way through.

Filmmaking on a budget is going to come with a lot of concessions. It's hard to make everything look really fantastic on a small budget, locations are limited, cast will be limited, and there isn't much in the way of resources for cinematography and lighting and costuming and the like. Extremely Unique Dynamic sidesteps this with a good enough script and a genuinely unique dynamic between their two lead characters. While the script isn't entirely a hundred percent laugh out loud funny, the jokes present are there to bolster either the meta concept or the character personalities and relationships. Its heartfelt look at the insecurities around coming out and how that changes relationships is an aspect of coming out that isn't really explored all too often. While I do think they could've leaned on the meta aspect more, I will say that at the very least they make good use of it towards the end`
