Camp Pleasant Lake is an awful, awful film that I cannot recommend. Everything about this is awful. The best “compliment” I can give this film was that it was never insulting and at points BARELY entertaining. It knew it was stupid and wasn’t trying to pretend that this is “cinema.” But the biggest thing I hate about this film is that it’s not a total abomination. It’s like 90% abomination, 5% bad, and 5% wow that was a decent idea but still bad. There are a ton of kills (mostly uncreative ones) so it feels like something at least is always happening. Granted you don’t care about the characters and how STUPID they are. But at least when they are dying it’s entertaining. Otherwise, everything else about this film is terrible. Story, acting, characters, horror, direction, and everything else you can name. The story has a somewhat interesting idea, but it’s executed so horribly. There are much better trashy films to watch. Camp Pleasant Lake, more like Camp Unpleasant Lake, am I right? Pls laugh, I need it after watching this.
