Some truly terrible acting & straight up line reading! This one crawled so Supernatural could sprint. I genuinely can't believe that this became a franchise. And is Eric Stoltz actually a pedophile? "Hiding the soul" in Mary in this one and being the dad in Butterfly Effect are not great for his argument.... I fired this one up on Paramount+ because Walken's face was the thumbnail and I've been trying to watch more of his stuff, but after this, I will not be following through on Prophecy 2 or 3 lol. I still believe in the power of his charisma, I just don't think this is the series for me. Viggo as Lucifer, just horrible 😂💀 don't waste your time!

viggo mortensen as lucifer is a great sell but other than that the movie is a bit boring.

the themes and ambition of this project supercede the half baked script and cheesy special effects.

there are so many good quotes and the cast is stacked. when it works, it's awesome. angels being part regal part feral in a petty pissing match over humans is right up my alley. also "dark souls" is a line that's uttered at least a few times which automatically makes it cooler just for that alone.

it makes it hurt that much more in the places where it doesn't work. it needed like 40% more budget and 30% better script and it'd be a true masterpiece. as it stands it's a flawed but ambitious project that was probably setting the pen and paper on fire when the script was being written, but the reality of 90s low budget movie making means it could only achieve part of what it could have. 

my new wish that'll never come true is for this to be reimagined and remade by robert eggers. would go so hard.
