**3 hours of a superhero movie: 😴😴😴
3 hours of Betty Blue: 😙😲🥺**
(Director's cut)
I was a little apprehensive about the director's cut, as an extra hour seemed excessive; but since it's the easiest version to find, I assumed fate was calling me to watch it. And well, it was the right decision because, although most of the added scenes develop our protagonist's relationship, in my opinion, it's a fabulous experience. I was personally captivated by the intimate and romantic moments, and thanks to that, the more chaotic scenes hit me quite hard.
It's undoubtedly very immersive; the story starts quite quickly, and from the very beginning, the characters demonstrate that they aren't the perfect couple, making getting to know them quite interesting and very honest. I'd say that having a couple who deviate from the perfect couple stereotype from the start makes them connect more with the viewer, as it feels more genuine.
Béatrice Dalle and Jean-Hugues Anglade are fantastic in their roles, and their characters feel very well-made. Both feel complex enough to keep us immersed in their stories for three hours.
My final observation is their beautiful cinematography.!
