Nostalgia is gonna be the death of me, I was literally in tears because I haven't seen this is so long, and all the memories of watching it as child were coming back!

This movie still holds up incredibly well and doesn't try to sugarcoat anything. Modern family films often soften the world, but Finding Nemo is surprisingly dark. From the opening tragedy to the toothy grin of Bruce the shark, the film acknowledges that the world is dangerous. By making the threats feel real, the payoff of the reunion feels earned rather than guaranteed!

The animation of disney/pixar films in the 2000s can never be beat. It has a certain level of creativity and detail that i haven't seen in years. From the way sunlight beams through the water, to the dancing pattern of light seen on the ocean floor. it’s pure art. Even the character movements feel so authentic to the ocean. They really don't make them like this anymore!

Obviously, watching Finding Nemo as a child is all about the vibrant colours and the comedy, but revisiting it now offers a completely different perspective. The core message isn't actually about children 'listening to their parents', it’s a lesson for parents on the importance of letting go. While the world can feel like a vast, intimidating ocean full of obstacles, keeping a child sheltered prevents them from truly experiencing life!
