relatable in so many different ways. i got one thing to say after watching this film—my acceptance and forgiveness will be in the form of change.

i love how art was used in this film as someone who expresses emotions (especially my angsty ones) through writing and drawing. beautiful allegories.

always seated for andre holland and aunjanue ellis taylor! they rise to the occasion to carry out the ways a family is broken by trauma and pain. i do wish some of this wasn’t so melodramatic though i get what was trying to be achieved. the ending i very much liked though!

I felt like I was witnessing something I’m not meant to see. There’s no melodrama, no emotional manipulation just the heavy, exhausting reality of trying to make peace with someone who hurt you deeply, and realizing that forgiveness can be complicated, selfish, incomplete, or even impossible.
