This movie started off a bit slower for me. I honestly didn’t really get drawn into it, until about the 20 minute mark. The story was so touching, I was kinda hating the service they were providing, thought it caused more harm than good. Brendan Frasier’s had a big heart and a great performance that made me really care more about what was going on. The cinematography was cleanly shot to a beautiful Japanese background. The relationships didn’t feel forced to me at all. I really ended enjoying this movie more than I thought I would. Take my money Amazon. 😭🥲🥹

At its core it’s a story of what purpose and connection can do to a man.
Love Brendan Fraser in anything he does. Accompanied by a great cast that put on a fantastic performance. A predictable story beat but it’s so easily forgiven in my opinion.

This is an absolute comfort movie rewatch alert

Truly, just a heartwarming story through and through, At times, it really got me good.

Brendan Fraser is this perfect vehicle, full of warmth, Empathy and just enough aloofness. Setting the story in Japan, which of course is necessary for “rental family” Ideas to exist, Only adds to the situation - loneliness , family dynamics, lack of discussion around the struggles of life - they all contribute to the importance of found family!!

And found family movies almost always rock
