Mostly silly and entertaining mainly as a curiosity piece of pre-code Paramount. Frankly I'm just here for the Lubitsch segment, and that definitely delivered.
Oh just for the record, a million dollars in 1932 is about $23,187,664.23 today. So the amount of money Mr. Glidden gave to eight people would be about $185,501,313.87 today. What I'm saying is tax the rich.

I was originally just going to put this on in the background and do some sketching until the W.C. Fields segment came on, but to be honest I was engaged from the start, even if it's far from perfect. The tone varies wildly from melodrama (death cell) to slapstick (road hogs), but each individual story is interesting enough that it doesn't matter too much. Out of the whole cast, the standout is probably May Robinson, who also plays the aunt in Bringing Up Baby, although seeing W.C. Fields do more of his thing is certainly nothing to complain about.
