The first half was definitely slow which I don't typically enjoy, but I found it not terribly difficult to surrender to. That was definitely aided by the score. The second half was where things really picked up. The dark, atmospheric video game world was amazing to live in. Somewhat scratched the Dark Fantasy TikTok vibe I love so much that I have yet to find in film (I do have a watchlist that allegedly fits this, but haven't gotten to them yet). My main complaint is that we had more time, fantasy and adventure with the video game world.

It had been recommended on TikTok as something unique and brilliant.
It took forever to get going and felt like a student film from the 80’s. Even when the story did start fully, it just seemed to be in no hurry.
Intentionally being vague and arty did nothing for me.

Never quite clicked with the pacing, but there is plenty to like and admire about this. Extremely interesting visually and sonically, especially everything 8bit. It’s always great to see passionate indie filmmakers make indie films – I’m definitely interested to check out what else Albert Birney has been up to. Sandy rules.
