It’s not scary, just campy. I wish you could have seen the gore instead of all the cutaways. The actor playing the pro golfer was as stiff as a 2x4, not to mention the awful acting from the final girl. I did laugh at the crazy chaos scenes. (Prime/Tubi)

I didn’t know this was a Jaws spoof going in but it didn’t take me long to realize. My expectations for a film about a killer lawn mower were already low but they were lowered even more with my realization.

I kept waiting for the obvious and corny ripoffs to come but they never do. Blades follows the Jaws story and hits all the Jaws plot points but consistently maintains its own personality. It never takes itself too seriously but also doesn’t rely on cheap gags or shock value.

I also thought that for a no-name cast, everyone puts in a pretty solid performance! Kelly and Roy had really good chemistry and Deke makes a great Quint.

This was so incredibly enjoyable and I will die on that hill.

What if you take one of the most suspenseful movies, and combine it with one of the most boring sports? You have the answer right here.
