This doc emotionally wrecked me. I thought it did such a good job of showing the men in the movie as fathers first without needing to show why they were incarcerated. You could feel the beautiful bonds some of them had with their daughters and the regret they felt being away. Even things like seeing their daughters be embarrassed by them was heartbreaking because you knew they never had the chance to experience that outside of the dance. It’s an incredible event and simultaneously the doc shows how inhumane prison life is for the touch and connection between incarcerated fathers and their family to be as rare as it is. All in all, a beautifully shot doc that was handled with a lot of care. I don’t think anyone could watch it without being seriously moved
