45/100
While Tim Burton could've developed an amazing adaptation of Carrol's classic novel, he flops this movie so hard by simply giving it too much coherence: what should be a crazy fever dream, a leap into a world of total madness and non-sense, becomes an average coming of age fantasy with a touch of feminism (making Alice basically an adult was definitely NOT the right choice). The vibes are kinda cool and the acting is pretty good especially from Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, but everything else is just profoundly disrespectful towards Carrol's book. Go watch Alice (1988) instead ugh.
