It’s pretty raw and riveting. I do feel like the shaky camera thing gets it sometimes and it is overdone, I felt like I was drunk because the whole screen was spinning. They also do some overdramatized war cliche scenes like showering with your full kit on or staring into a mirror for forever or punching things. It’s just for show and in my opinion a little extra and cliche. The actual action scenes are great though, will watch again.

An incredibly effective excessive in the build up of tension. Thanks in no small part to a cinematography approach incredibly unique to the over saturated war films of the early 2000’s up to the mid 2010’s. The handheld camera really immerses you in the action and who can forget those iconic slow-motion shots. Great performances too specifically from Mackie and Renner.
