I find the randomest shit to watch sometimes

I honestly don't care if you call me an asshole for actually liking this movie. I don’t care if Mike Myers clowns me for enjoying it. I failed to see why people hated it. It was nowhere near that bad. The bad reviews it got in 2008 must’ve been from the same people who now praise that Bluey bullshit (a show that I wouldn’t watch unless you pay me $100k and under the guise of letting me hate-watch it for personal reasons). Guru Pitka (who was much much better than Austin Powers) had a lot of charisma to his character as well as Jane Bullard because, well, just like Mike Myers, Jessica Alba killed it in her role. Speaking of Mike Myers himself, I haven’t seen him and Kanye together since Kanye famously dissed then and current at the time the movie came out President George W. Bush for his response to Hurricane Katrina (you know if Bush watched the movie and he saw the Kanye cameo, he would’ve been like “Not this fucking guy again”). The portrayal of Hinduism in the movie was fun. I loved the Bollywood-style version of The Steve Miller Band song “The Joker” that played at the end. In fact, that version was better than the original, and to top it all off, that same song would later appear on Guitar Hero: World Tour in late October that same year as part of the game’s main setlist. Quite the 35th anniversary that song had (because it came out in 1973). The “9-to-5” cover at the beginning was pretty solid, and the cover of Extreme’s “More Than Words” when Jane and Pitka have their date was really good. The first chuckle-worthy joke about the height of Verne Troyer’s hockey coach character reminded me of the South Park episode where Cartman laughed at Mr. Nelson the whole time for how he looked. 

There’s not a lot of bizarre things about this movie, but the first thing i need to discuss is the main elephant in the room (zero pun intended). Did I need to see a bizarre humping scene between a female elephant and the elephant that Pitka and his assistant had the whole movie? Because when I think of sports, I don’t think of love-making elephants on the ice rink. The other thing was during the first flashback of Pitka as a kid being taught by Guru Tugginmypudha. I didn’t find Tugginmypudha using a neti pot (the one you use to clear your allergies especially during allergy season) through his nose to summon a drink (I didn’t know you could do that in movie logic) bizarre, it was the way Pitka looked as a kid and by that I mean tiny body with a big head a lá flashbacks from a few episodes of the old George Lopez show that aired on Nick@Nite (the one with “Low Rider” as the theme song that randomly woke people up in the middle of the night). 

I loved the way Jane stood up for herself to that heckler in the stadium telling him to “kiss her Canadian ass”. I can imagine some famous figures from Canada would do the same thing she did like Sum 41, Simple Plan, Nickelback, Avril Lavigne, Ryan Reynolds and especially the ultra talented  pop superstar Tate McRae. Tate, Ryan and the Nickelback gang would’ve easily shut that heckler down instantly.
