really a torturous watch, reminds me of 'sometimes i think about dying' but in a british context, had me in stitches and polarizing in the same way 'Friendship' was... cringe comedy,
Saw at Prince Charles cinema and Mike Leigh was actually there for a Q&A, had a hilarious line while going up on stage: "Well its been 54 years since this came out so I think im entitled to be an octogenarian cripple"
What a sweet and funny man, really did a great job of answering questions from the moderator and audience, many of which were vague and unanswerable (how have the fixations of working class britons changed over the past 50 years ?) what why are u asking mike leigh that lol, perhaps go look at a census or something idk.
