I do not understand the trajectory from The GoodTimesKid to His Three Daughters, but all I know is that I am excited to watch more of Jacobs' films.
A case of mistaken identity causes three lives to collide in a peculiar way. The examination of toxic relations as exposed only when someone similar yet different comes into view is so vastly interesting and the low budget filmmaking gives it just enough edge to where even errant movements feel deliberate. The limitations are the constraint which make this film interesting, giving it a punk feel. Knowing that this was filmed on stolen film adds to this. Every moment has to be carefully set yet make room for the unpredictability of life. I'll have to rewatch this at some point. It makes me want to make a movie again
