This reminds of a less disturbing Bully (2001) but it's still pretty dark. The concept of these types of drama haunts the fuck out of me for how realistic and frightening they can be as it can easily be based on true event(s). The acting was good, I'm surprised to see Josh Peck in this kind of film, especially for the type of role he is playing. I couldn't imagine myself agreeing to a role like that where the story is incredibly obscure. The idea of the title doesn't really play out when the majority of the characters aren't exactly mean, it's just apart of their "plan" that didn't go out as it turned. I thought it was a little stupid for the intentions of the plan is to get revenge on the "bully" when he's not even inherently mean or haven't done many physical actions of harm that seem too threatening. Although, I do love how it all correlates to how the character just don't seem to understand what's going through the bully's mind that makes him act the way he is, it plays out so well with real world views and the realism within that mindset. Mean Creek is a tragic, horrid, uncomfortable film that'll make friend groups scared of going boating
