A lot of this movie’s shortcomings are written off for me by the immense nostalgia I have for it but I do think at its core this is such an emotional powerhouse that I can’t help wanting to live inside of, despite its ultimately nightmarish trajectory of events. Lovely characters, each with a lot to dig into. My favorite’s always been Rocky, the older brother who’s trying to hold together what’s destined to collapse.
They’re just kids at the end of the day, and it’s just tragic. More coming of age films that are fucking downers pls
