Sex being a word that’s the same in Norwegian as in English will never not throw me off. Also the fact “God” is pronounced like “Good”.
The end of a trilogy…
I’ve been really big on The Oslo Stories Trilogy. Even if my brain can’t remember which titles are for what movie. I feel they should have been swapped around. Anyway, The one with the girl in love with her teacher. That’s my favourite. So now I’ve seen all three. What does it all mean?. I have absolutely no idea. They’re all set in Oslo and feature a “queer” protagonist for one of the plotlines. 🤷. So yes forgive me if I am just very confused this whole review.
I feel a bit like the characters at the beginning of discussing what one of their dreams meant. Does it mean something. I’m sure, I guess. I’m walking away from this one. Don’t get a really large tattoo.
A lot of this movie consists of lots of unbroken shots of characters conversing, it is very gripping don’t get me wrong. You do actually care about both stories going on. And then there’s the weird stuff. The weird montages of footages of cars driving by the night sets to the instrumental. What does this mean?. Is it a tribute to night time in the city of Oslo?.
And there’s a really weird sequence near the end which was so odd I was hypnotised by it in just how surreal it was. I didn’t even need to read the subtitles to be moved by it.
