Raised in a repressive era where sexuality was taboo, Ana, Patricia, and Mayela found their understanding of womanhood based on unspoken rules and implicit impositions. Now, their fearless voices incarnate in a single 65-year-old woman, who revisits a kaleidoscopic life of intertwined memories, secrets, and hidden desires.

Memories of a Burning Body
My Costa Rican girlfriend has watched Argentine films during my country's national holidays, so today, for the day of the annexation of Nicoya to Costa Rica, I wanted to watch a film from there!

I really enjoyed it. I have a lot of issues with my gender identity. I was assigned female at birth, but I've never felt entirely like a woman. I feel like it's something I was forced to be. But I don't identify with masculinity either. I don't fit in there.

I was also thinking about my girlfriend, who experiences the same gender issues as me, except she was assigned male at birth.

Fuck the binary.

I highly recommend reading two reviews of her.

Memories of a Burning Body

I am happy this exist, beautiful film, slightly weirdly told, but I think that makes it better.
