Does a lot of the grindhouse affectations that usually annoy me but kind of work. Still, kind of treads water for a little bit and doesn't really maintain its nastiness.

Sloppy editing with awkward cuts, cheesy and completely unnecessary zoom shots, campy acting, and my god what was that levitation scene LMAO

All of these things should have made Here Comes the Devil repulsive. I guess to a certain degree, it does come off as such - but the strangest thing is how intriguing and captivating the story is. I was itching to know what the fuck was up, I was so tempted to Google search spoilers, even. It's a good story, but a terrible movie - if that makes any sense at all.
