Such a beautifully human film, incredibly charming and ultimately devastating. This is the first Iranian film I’ve seen, it’s so wonderful to see such a different culture and life. However, I find it absolutely wild how mistreated and restricted women are in that country. The directors of this film were legally punished and accused of ‘disturbing public opinion’ mostly due to the female protagonist being depicted as improperly wearing her hijab. What a beautiful film though, a lovely meandering story that ends it absolute heartbreak, with some really gorgeous moments both visually and emotionally.
