Boys Go To Jupiter is genuinely one of the best animated films I've ever seen. It's very strange, very trippy, and so full of warmth and soul. I absolutely adore the animation style; it reminds me a lot of retro video games mixed with the bright, pastel colours of 2010 pop culture. I still can't believe it was all done on Blender, because this is amazingly polished. Accompanying the awesome animation is a script full of absurdist humour delivered in the most deadpan voice and random psychedelic music sequences that somehow just work so well. Underneath it all is a great exploration of the gig economy; during the film you ask yourself why someone like Billy who's known to his peers as 'The Human Calculator' would drop-out of school and take delivery jobs, and it's very quickly answered by the environment he lives in, surrounded by billboards and online media constantly trying to sell things or push a 'hustle' mindset.
Boys Go To Jupiter is definitely one of my favourite watches of the year, if not all time. If you haven't seen it already, drop everything you're doing and go watch it immediately, because I promise you it's so worth it.> ❝No one ever got to Heaven on an electric vehicle!❞
→ film-related note: i've been an orange juice hater my entire life. never have i wanted to drink orange juice as bad as i did watching this film.
