This is really good. This is a very relatable and personal film for me. Before watching it I didn't know what to expect at all, because ocd is a very complex disorder. Basically, it has lots of variations and it shows very differently for different people. Because of that, portraying the whole disorder as a whole in one film, especially a short one is definitely not easy, perhaps even impossible. But I think it was done very well. Even though like I said it obviously couldn't show everything and all the troubles that it could bring, it did show the main point of it, the intensity of it very well. The intensity was shown in a very exaggerated, over-the-top way, but it got the point across while making it entertaining to watch. The whole structure was good. I especially liked the soundtrack, it really keeps the vibe and makes you more invested in the story.
For more personal thoughts, as I said, it's impossible to show everything and all problems of the disorder in one film; for example, it was heavily focused (pretty much the whole story was about it) on the fear of something bad happening and that forcing the compulsion. And to be fair that is something that is very frequent for people suffering from ocd. However, I myself have never felt like that and instead, it just feels extremely unsatisfying on a much bigger scale if you don't do something that your compulsion is telling you to do. It just feels insanely annoying. For example, imagine being really really itchy and not being able to scratch the itch or something like that. Basically, I don't feel the fear of bad things happening if I don't do it; instead, I feel extremely annoyed and cannot stop thinking about it and those thoughts press me. Also, I mentioned ocd appearing in many different variations, for example I completely related to the need for everything (in this case - every product) being put completely straight and it's a way more annoying thing than many people think. For example, I sometimes spend up to 1-2 minutes fixing my phone being put straight before I can go to sleep. If I don't I cannot get that out of my head and can't fall asleep. But anyway, besides that, I didn't find a lot of other things relatable, such as the guy keeping that threaded thing with him at all times. However, there is another thing that I am troubled by very often. Well, also there are just some things that have to have some kind of ritual. For example, how I make my bed, it has to be the exact same way every day. But the main thing that I hate and actually have never seen being talked about by anyone else before, is the need to repeat some syllables or words when thinking them. For example when reading or just thinking when there is some kind of word that I say in my mind in an unsatisfying way I have to repeat it until it sounds satisfying and I can move on. This is the thing that annoys me the most and I've never heard of other people experiencing the same thing.
I've said a lot about ocd from my own experience to mainly express how it could appear in many many different ways for different people and it's not as generic as many people think, and also to just share my own experience as well. That being said though I'm very glad that there are films like this, that help people understand it better. And I do think that it was portrayed pretty well here even if it was completely over the top, but it gets the point across, lets people relate, helps educate other people on the matter, while also keeping it very entertaining. Great film
