The Lost Bus is a perfectly serviceable and bland disaster flick that, while mostly does a good job at creating an intense environment with somewhat high stakes, still, unfortunately, has a dire aesthetic and incredibly bloated script that suffers from trying to do too much for its own sake.

Felt very authentic and immersive I was stressed like I was on that fucking bus. McConaughey (it's been five years!) and Ferrara both had excellent performances. Ultimately there's only so much you can get out of a true wild fire story no matter the stakes.

The stakes rise gradually, which makes it more and more gripping as it goes on. The VFX is outstanding, and no wonder it was nominated for the Oscars for best VFX. It really makes you feel the fear, heat, tension and fire up close. The individual character arcs and their personal struggles hit every right emotion at the right time, and the performances across the board are amazing.

Overall, a great survival drama based on real-life incidents.
