I really hate how this movie started off so cute and wholesome and then quickly got increasingly more gruesome 😭 I was stressedddd honey but in any case this was a pretty good one! I love that it covered the eldest daughter trauma and the genuine naivety that comes with exploring the world after tending to your family’s needs. It’s hard not to fall into the allure of boys and thrills when life comes with constant barriers. So I really liked the movie for that.
One thing abt chantele is she was rambunctious as fuck and I love that. I’ve never seen a smart, rowdy black girl in this way, I too was in history class clocking tea about black pain and being told I was “too much” so I really felt homegirl but still mannn…she really stressed me out!!
