Wow. This was interesting.
Sadly, not one of Spike's better efforts, however it remains one of his most sprawling and ambitious. Parts of it work, namely Miller's great performance and the ruthlessly brutal war scenes, but there are like fourteen plots going on here and not one of them holds together cohesively. Also, it has to be said, one of the stupidest endings I've seen in a long, long time.
And Joseph Gordon-Levitt... what the fuck are you doing...
On the plus side, the Libatique cinematography is at least wonderful, and so is the Blanchard score.

got to see spike lee!!
apart from that the movie is not really good, me and my sister left halfway through since it was a midnight screening AND the movie was almost 3hrs
anyways it was funny seeing these random ass american and italian actors together and me and my sister kept saying oh my god why is there the dude from x all the time
kinda random watch but i had to finish the movie just for the sake of it

Spike can also do WWII stuff… I guess??? This was pretty boring and not half as good as Da 5 Bloods
