To say it simple and short: it was perfection, but nothing can beat Moana 1. The choices that were made for this are incredible. As expected. And the more I watch this movie, the more I like it. Because I notice more and more and connect more dots. It continued Moana story very well. Her adventurous spirit was kept. She became a voyager. She grew up but stayed that hilarious and caring girl at heart. The same Angst, drama and failure before building up to love and trust. Really does a lot to your mental state if you are invested. But maybe I'm just too in love with the Moana universe.

Just like the first movie, everything is beautifully animated. Nature makes you feel home. You can feel the temperature ps if the sand and water. You can feel the glowing lights. I am so happy oh my god. Everything is so magical. Typical Disney. Obsessed.

I love these songs as well, especially mauis of course, but I slightly prefer the ones from the first movie. But I am pretty sure that is only because of nostalgic reasons. I'd still rate them a 10 out of 10. They have such beautiful meaning, such energy, such vibes. I listened to these songs in over ten languages. Not surprising, maori was my favorite. The background songs make such a difference too. God I am glazing this movie.

Same voice actors as the last movie so I can't really say much! Just as satisfied. But I am also very satisfied with the 3 new "important side characters" AND WITH MATANGI AND NALO OF COURSE.

Now the negatives. I am upset that vaiana has a sister. Why? I can't tell. I feel so stupid for that being my opinion. But I can't change it unfortunately. When I first watched this movie I was so confused and kind of felt mad that she had a sister. Maybe it's the age gap? Maybe it's the randomness? I don't get it. Something very small so it doesn't impact my opinion on the movie. Just something that I wanted to get off my chest. Second, something that really did upset me. The ending. I don't like that vaiana became a demigodess. Do I prefer this outcome over her dying? Definitely. I would choose this over and over. Am I still mad that it had to be this outcome? Yes!!! She was so strong before, and making her a demi goddess makes it seem like the can't be strong without powers. That's why I appreciate pd Maui being weaker or equal to her in most cases. But now she has powers and it makes no difference anymore that she can be stronger as a mortal human.

Now comes my yume yap again, so if you don't liepke that, don't read it OH MY GOD MAUI WAS SO PERFECT IN THIS MOVIE AGAIN. HE IS MY HUSBAND. END OF DISCUSSION. HE IS SO FUNNY AND CUTE AND STRONG AND UGHHHH. AND I RELATE TO MONI SO MUCH. I am so happy that they made Moni a male Fan who is clearly in love with Maui and not just a manly fanboy. I am okay with the fact that Maui doesn't reciprocate those feelings. That makes it kind of better actually because it creates this tension of Maui still being kind to him and flexing in his presence because he knows that he enjoys it. And nalo? Damn. He only has a few seconds of screen time but he stole my heart. I need some doomed yaoi action enemies to lovers between Maui and nalo.
